Crooked Bridge – Old Bridge Prototype

Hidden in the heart of Mostar’s Old Town lies the charming Crooked Bridge (Kriva Ćuprija), a smaller and older cousin of the famous Old Bridge (Stari Most). Built in the 16th century, this elegant stone arch was reportedly constructed as a prototype to test the design and stability that would later be used for the grander Old Bridge. Spanning the peaceful Radobolja River, the Crooked Bridge exudes a quiet, romantic charm, surrounded by cobblestone paths and traditional stone houses. Despite floods and centuries of change, it still stands gracefully—an enduring symbol of Ottoman-era engineering and Mostar’s timeless beauty.
